Support For Denver's Most Vulnerable
A survey conducted in February 2010 by 50 outreach workers and volunteers found 121 people, or 44 percent, to be at a higher risk of dying prematurely if left on the streets. This indicator is slightly higher than the national average, which is 42 percent.
As of June 2011, our community has connected 54 of the most vulnerable individuals with housing and services. The retention rate in housing after one year is 98%.
Denver's Road Home, Community Solutions, Denver Street Outreach, and multiple partners have joined together to connect our most vulnerable homeless individuals to housing and services. We continue to use this tool in our community as a valuable source of data and method for prioritizing resources.
